ABOUT US
In the summer of 2017, project owner and subsequent founder Tibor Bak approached Attila Karaszi, later co-founder, for assistance and partnership in the basic project of developing an electric car and later co-founding BAK Motors.
The company BAK Motors AG was subsequently founded in 2018 by Hungarian entrepreneur Tibor Bak, co-founder Attila Karaszi and lawyer Stefan Peller.
Fusing the world’s best talent with the latest technology, BAK Motors develops powertrains that offer all the advantages of petrol or diesel engines while emitting no CO2.
BAK Motors’ powertrains combine zero-carbon hydrogen combustion with solid-state hydrogen storage, eliminating the need for storing hydrogen in a bulky, pressurized tank.

For Automotive:
It offers the best of both worlds: the driving experience of a petrol-engined car, together with zero carbon emissions. Indeed, the lifetime CO2 footprint of this powertrain is lower than that of a battery electric vehicle (BEV), which contains significant embedded carbon in its batteries.
For Defense:
BAK Motors technology offers two unique advantages:
- It provides zero carbon propulsion in all conditions, unlike a BEV, which cannot be recharged in a battlefield, and a fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV), which cannot operate in extremely cold winter temperatures.
- The by-product of hydrogen is water. Normally, transporting water to the front line is difficult and dangerous. An army that can automatically produce water from its own vehicles has a significant advantage.
